Frederick “Fred” Charles MacClure, 67, of Stamford, Connecticut passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Stamford Community Hospital, Stamford, Connecticut.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at St. John Catholic Church, Onawa, Iowa with Father Michael Erpelding, Celebrant officiating. (Social distancing measures must be followed- Family requests attendees to bring and wear masks.) Burial will follow in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. Visitation will be 9:00 – 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at St. John Catholic Church, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Fred was born September 24, 1952 the son of James and Esther (Minten) MacClure. He grew up on a farm near Hornick, Iowa and graduated from Whiting High School in 1970. He was an honor student and enjoyed playing basketball in high school. He furthered his education at University of Iowa and graduated with a finance degree. Fred then went on to University of Chicago and graduated with a Masters in Business Administration.

He worked for Harris Investment in the finance department. After 10 years as a managing director with Rothschild in New York, he created his own firm, Quantis Capital Management in Stamford, Connecticut. He retired in 2018.

Fred enjoyed reading books and watching movies. He loved everything about History and enjoyed Financial History and Political Science.

Survivors include his siblings, Mary (Don) McGlothlin of Lake Elmo, Minnesota, Elaine MacClure of North Liberty, Iowa, Teresa (Martin) Bernstein of Kansas City, Kansas, Don MacClure of Onawa, Iowa, Glen (Sheryl) MacClure of Des Moines, Iowa, Wayne (Rhonda) MacClure of Hornick, Iowa, Steven MacClure of Glendale, Arizona, Tom (Ronda) MacClure of Whiting, Iowa, and Gary (Denise) MacClure of Navarre, Florida; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, James MacClure; brother, Ray MacClure, sister, Marlene Appleton; and niece, Megan MacClure.
