Karen Marie Corey, 73, of Onawa, Iowa passed away Monday, May 4, 2020 at her residence.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 8, 2020 at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa with Hospice Chaplain Dale Wolf officiating. (Social distancing measures must be followed). Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Karen Marie Corey was born April 27, 1947 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania the daughter of Wilson Woodrow Collake and AnaJean Nicholl. She grew up in Warminster, Pennsylvania and graduated high school in 1965.

Karen Marie (Collake) and John Richard Corey were united into marriage in January of 1968 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

Karen was a loving mother. She worked at a jewelry factory in Pennsylvania. She worked at Casino Omaha as a cage/cashier and retired in 2012. She loved playing computer games, reading, telling jokes, playing Bingo, crafting, and collecting Knick knacks. She loved her dogs and spending time with her family and friends.

She will be missed by all those who met and loved her.

Karen was a member of the Siouxland Detachment #507 Marine Corp League.

Survivors include her husband, John Corey of Onawa, Iowa; her daughter, Mollie (Travis) Larson of Pisgah, Iowa; her step-children, Robert (Lori) Ruddy of Pennsylvania, Mellisa (Henry) Corey Gibbs of Las Vegas, Nevada, John Corey, Jr. of Onawa, Iowa, and Robert Corey of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota; her grandchildren, Nathan Corey, Anna Cieri, Alex Cieri, Brandon Cieri, Wade Edwards, Mariah Havic, Maranda, Weltz, Amelia Weltz, Tyler Corey, Summer Corey, Jordyn Corey, and Johnathon Corey; great-grandchildren, Timber, Johnny, Maddie, Alayna, and Sean; and one brother, James (Vera Marie) Dotzenroth, of Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson Collake and AnaJean Nicholl; one brother, Scott Dotzenroth; a special uncle, Leon “Nick” Nicholl; and many aunts and uncles.
