James E. Galbreath

James Earl Galbreath, 70, Onawa, Iowa, died Thursday, May 13, 1993, at his residence.

He was born June 11, 1922, at Idalia, Colorado, to Earl and Mildred (Mcharry) Galbreath. He moved with his family to Creston, Iowa, and in 1947 to Onawa where he worked for the City of Onawa with the water department and the street department. On April 27, 1949, he married Arlene James at Onawa. The couple began farming in 1952. While farming, he also worked for Wilson Trailer and the Lewis and Clark State Park.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene, a daughter and her husband, Tavia and Steven Rhodes of Onawa, a granddaughter, Stephanie, a sister, Mardel Ford of Onawa, and a step-mother, Pinkie Galbreath.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 1993, at the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa, with Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. Casket bearers were Bob Skelton, Alfred Derrick, Virgil Sorenson, Edwin Benjamin, Jack Stevenson, and Francis Heisler.

Interment was in Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa
