A private family service will be held with burial in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Marsha Jean Hansen was born March 1, 1944 in Onawa, Iowa, to Hans L. and Clara M. (Delance) Hansen.

Marsha met her best friend and husband Norman Rolph, and were married June 3, 1962. Marsha was a hard working mother of three, she worked many jobs over the years; she did wall-papering, house painting, and numerous cleaning jobs. She served meals at the school and worked several years at the grocery store from IGA to Fiesta Foods. Marsha took pride in her home and the food she served. Marsha often hosted for the holidays, sharing both food and cards with the family.

Her home was seemingly always shared with many neighborhood kids, and her children, many of whom still have good time memories. Marsha was an avid sports fan, she cheered on the Minnesota Vikings and the Boston Celtics. She always followed her children and grandchildren’s sporting events. Marsha herself was a basketball player in high school and an avid bowler. Thru bowling she had many friendships and good times on the women’s bowling nights, tournament trips, and couple’s leagues. Marsha was always ready to throw down on some card playing, and other games with family and friends. Most importantly she loved all the time spent with Norman and the family. She logged many hours mushroom hunting and on yearly camping trips to Stalker Lake Minnesota and time spent fishing with Norman and friends. More recently she always looked forward to having reunions with her brothers and their families. Dining out, a popular pastime. She was always happy to be around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her face always seemed to light up when they were around. We will miss her.

Norman and Marsha’s family were members of the First Christian Church of Onawa, Iowa.

On April 8, 2020 Marsha left this earth to be reunited with her husband Norman; her mom and dad, Hans and Clara Hansen; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Irene (Wallis) Rolph; two brothers, Butch Hansen and Delaine Hansen; sisters-in-law, Alvena Phillips and Lorna (Wallis) Rolph; and brother-in-law, Gordon Rolph.

She is survived by her children, Jody Rolph, Jeff (Peggy) Rolph, and Anthony (Heather) Rolph all of Onawa, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Cassandra Rolph, Christopher Rolph, Jacklyn (Michael Johnson) Murray, Jacob Murray, Skyler Olberding, McKenzie Rolph, Allyson (Codi) Blackbird, and Joshua Bruneau; seven great-grandchildren; her brothers, David (Marge) Hansen, Doug Hansen, Dwight (Cindy) Hansen; six sisters-in-law, Connie Hansen, Kathyrn Oaks, Lois Miller, Lorna McNeill, Colleen (Mike) Vaughn, and Bonnie Rolph; brother-in law, Wallis Rolph; and many nieces and nephews.
