Richard “Dick” Wilson, 85, of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019, at his home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor Harvey Hanson officiating. Burial will follow in the Onawa Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army and the David McNeill American Legion Post #129 of Onawa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Richard Arlen Wilson was born on October 12, 1933, in Smithland, Iowa, to Oliver and Leona (Hansen) Wilson. He attended school in Smithland. On January 24, 1956, he enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He served until his honorable discharge on January 13, 1959.

He married Arlene Lundin on June 1, 1963, in Elk Point, South Dakota.

Dick worked for packing plants in Denison, Iowa, and Perry, Iowa, and retired from IBP in Dakota City, Nebraska, in 2000. He later worked for Super Wash Car Wash in Sergeant Bluff until 2018.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene Wilson of Sergeant Bluff, IA; one son and his significant other, Rick and Angie Wilson of Sergeant Bluff, IA; and one grandson, Tanner Wilson of Sergeant Bluff, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Leona (Hansen) Wilson; three sisters; and two brothers.
