Sandra Louise (Woodrich) Phipps, 76, of Blencoe, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa, with her daughters present.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at the Whiting Christian Church in Whiting, with Pastor Josh Weece officiating. Burial will follow in the Whiting City Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa, and casual attire is requested. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Sandy was born on January 5, 1943, in Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of Cleo and Lila (Watson) Woodrich. She attended school and graduated from Whiting High School in 1961.

She married Gerald Dean Phipps of Castana, Iowa, on June 23, 1961.

She was a farmer’s wife and mother to two daughters. In her later years, Sandy worked at Onawa Foods.

She enjoyed camping, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. Mostly, she enjoyed watching her three grandchildren playing sports. She was their biggest fan.

Survivors include her daughters, Jodi (Russ Collison) Phipps of Blencoe, IA and Jami (Shane) Howard of Blencoe, IA; grandson, Dylan Collison; granddaughters, Jordan Collison and Harper Phipps; one brother, Tony (Tracy) Woodrich of Wilmington, NC; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Gibbs and Donna Norman; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Phipps; parents, Cleo and Lila Woodrich; parents-in-law, Ralph and Janette Phipps; and two brothers-in-law.
