James H. Osgood, 48, of Sloan, Iowa, formerly of Onawa, Iowa, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020 at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

A memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 20, 2020 at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Michael Lewis officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

James Henry was born April 15, 1971 in Virginia the son of Charles A. and Martha M. (Dedmon) Osgood. He graduated from West Monona High School with the class of 1989.

James worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator with several companies including the Hallett Materials Company. James was currently working at the Kum & Go convenience store in Sloan, Iowa.

He volunteered with the Boy Scouts for many years. He enjoyed woodworking and loved his cat “Jessica”.

Survivors include his sister, Anna Osgood of Onawa, Iowa; two brothers, David (Kathy) Osgood of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Kevin Mings of Onawa, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Kaitlin Osgood, Dylan Osgood, Jessica (Brian McCall) Cox, and Martha Ann Osgood; and several other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Martha; and one brother, Joseph Osgood.
