20 November 2019Deborah Ann Shatswell Vaughn, 65, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Onawa, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, in Omaha.
Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 16, 2019, at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor Michael Lewis officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.
Deborah Ann was born on July 6, 1954, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Cole B. and Darlene (Bryan) Shatswell, Sr. She graduated from West Monona High School in Onawa, Iowa, in 1972, and then went on to graduate with her associates degree in nursing from WITCC in Sioux City. She worked as an RN for many years at Burgess Health Center in Onawa and at various other places.
She married Mike Vaughn and to this union three children were born: Stacy, Beau, and Amanda.
Deborah had resided in Omaha, Nebraska, for the past 21 years. She was affiliated with the Dream City Church and Bridge Church, both in Omaha, and the First Christian Church in Onawa.
Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Stacy Vaughn and husband Russell Schill, Beau Vaughn, and Amanda Vaughn and Richard Kilgore, all of Omaha, NE; stepdaughter, Jackie Vaughn of Omaha, NE; and fifteen grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cole B. and Darlene (Bryan) Shatswell, Sr.; brother, Cole B. Shatswell, Jr., and one granddaughter, Kelsey Henry.
