4 December 2019Patsy Ann Redmond, 86, of Onawa, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.
Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, November 25, 2019, at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor Craig Bock officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Township Cemetery in Albaton, Iowa. Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Sunday, November 24, 2019, at the Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.
Patsy Ann was born on October 30, 1933, in Sloan, Iowa, the daughter of Charles L. and Lola M. (Sullivan) Pratt. She graduated from Sloan High School in 1951. Following graduation, she worked in Corpus Christi, Texas, for one year before returning home to take care of her mother.
Patsy and Lowell Redmond were united in marriage on March 21, 1960, in Sioux City, Iowa. They farmed together until 1987, and then Patsy worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural route carrier for fifteen years until her retirement.
She was a former member of the drainage district board. She enjoyed cooking, baking, completing crossword puzzles, and playing games. Patsy especially loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandson.
Survivors include her grandson, Matthew Redmond and fiancée Kathryn Clark of Onawa, IA; her son-in-law, Bob Walker and Becky Wakehouse of Castana, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles L. and Lola M. (Sullivan) Pratt; husband, Lowell Redmond; daughter, Stephanie Walker; granddaughter, Sarah Mae Walker; siblings, George Pratt, Glen Pratt, Edward Pratt, Jerry Pratt, Charlotte Whittaker and Audrey Green; and nephew, Mickey Pratt.
