September 8, 1938:DIES FROM INJURIES RECEIVED IN A FALL.
Arthur W. Kinsley, custodian of school, passed away at St. Joseph Hospital, Sept. 5
Funeral services being held at the First Methodist Church this Thursday afternoon with Rev. Stauffer officiating. Death was the tragic end of the life of Arthur W. Kinsley who fell from a third story window at the School House, August 25, while performing his duties as a custodian, a position which he had so excellently held during the past two years.
Loved by every student and faculty member of the school for his many kindnesses, his services there will be missed as he will be missed in this community where he has resided so many years of his life.
Arthur Kinsley was an industrious man and found pleasure in the work for him to do. His life was an open book and he was admired for his many fine traits. He was honest and sincere, and a friend to all whom he knew. Life to him was worth while and he seen beauty in the things around about him, he loved his home where he will be sorely missed.
Arthur William Kinsley was born in Onawa, Iowa, September 13th, 1887 and passed away in the St. Joseph Hospital, Sioux City, Iowa, September 5th, 1938 at the age of 50 years, 11 months and 24 days.
He was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Kinsley pioneers of this vicinity. Mr. Kinsley was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Onawa, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Miss Bessie Florence Butcher on April 6th, 1910.
To this union two sons were born, William Harold who died in infancy and Wayne Henry who remains to cherish his father's memory.
Surviving Mr. Kinsley are his wife and son, Wayne and wife, and one grand child, Beverly Jo, one sister, Margaret Bower of Sioux City, Iowa.
Funeral services are being held this Thursday afternoon from the Methodist church with Reverend Wayne C. Stauffer officiating.
Burial will be made in the Onawa cemetery.
