Obituary from the Onawa Democrat
January 25, 1934:

THE OBITUARY OF MRS. EMMA MARIE KINSLEY.

Emma Maria Seitzinger was born in Doniphan County, Pennsylvania, March 22, 1862, and passed away at the home of her daughter in Sioux City, Iowa January 18, 1934, at the age of 71 years, 9 months, 24 days.

At the age of two, she moved with the family to Fremont, Indiana, where she attended school and grew to womanhood. Here, in 1819 (1879) she was united in marriage to W. H. Kinsley, who passed away five years ago.

Their companionship was beautiful throughout the years, and their home life congenial and happy.

Mrs. Kinsley leaves to mourn her passing, one daughter, Mrs. Paul Bower, of Sioux City, and one son, Arthur Kinsley, of Onawa. One daughter, Ora Kinsley, passed away in girlhood, and two other daughters, Mrs. Levina Strunk and Mrs. Levisa Cooper, passed away in mature life. Her two brothers, Edward and Henry and her two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Modine and Levina Henney preceded her in death.

There remain to mourn her passing a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, in all of whom she took a great interest.

Mr. and Mrs. Kinsley moved to Monona County in 1881, living on the farm three miles north of Onawa. Twenty-five years ago, they moved to Onawa, which was their home until she moved to Sioux City, where she has made her home for the past four years. The end came after a long period of weakness and she was ready and willing to go.

Our sister was a consistent humble Christian since girlhood and gave full proof of her devotion. She was a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Onawa. She was a splendid woman, a good neighbor, a loyal friend, and a self-sacrificing wife and mother. The loved ones have the consolation of happy, blessed, hopeful memories. The world is much the better because of her life and labors of love.

Funeral services were conducted at West's Funeral home in Sioux City, at one o'clock Thursday, by Rev. G. D. Serrill, of the First Christian Church. Burial was in the Whiting Cemetery.
