Tim McCord, 54, Blencoe, Iowa died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at his residence.

Funeral services were at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Rush Family Chapel with Pastor Don Collison officiating. Visitation was Friday 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery at Blencoe, Iowa.

Timothy Eugene "Tim" McCord was born May 24, 1955 at Onawa, Iowa, the son of John R. and Irene (Gibson) McCord. Tim was in the United States Army and served two years in Germany. While he was stationed there, he was privileged to spend some very enjoyable time with one of his hobbies, mountain climbing.

Tim and Theresa Holman - Miner were united in marriage May, 1980 at Blencoe, Iowa. They were later divorced.

Tim enjoyed life, the world around him and music resulting in many interests and hobbies: fishing, mushroom hunting, turkey hunting, tubing on the river, still life painting, playing the guitar and singing Karoke with his brother, Jeff and friends. Tim also loved caring for his pets, Snot his Rottweiler dog and Honey his cat.

He had various occupations: Highway 29 rest area attendant, Reily in Blair, NE, Westendorf Mfg. Co., Beam Tractor Parts, farm laborer, mowing lawns and dog setting for friends and relatives.

Survivors include his mother, Irene McCord of Blencoe; his siblings Terry (Becky) of Winchester, VA, Denise (Jack) Murphy of Waterloo, IA, Donna (Rick) O'Brien of Topeka, KS, Jeff (Deena) of Onawa and Becki (Steve) White of Madison, WI and loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents; Roy and Pearl McCord and Wilfred and Esther Gibson; a niece, Angel McCord and several aunts and uncles.
