Delores (Gibler) Bennett Claxton, daughter of Marion and Gertrude (Seward) Gibler was born November 21, 1943. She passed away after a hard fought battle with cancer under the care of Hospice of St. John on April 13, 2009 at the age of 65. Celebration of Dee's life was held at Arvada Presbyterian church in Arvada, Colorado on April 16,2009.

Dee graduated from Whiting High School in 1961 and entered the working world in Sioux City, Iowa as executive secretary for Key Life Insurance. She then relocated in Denver, Colorado in 1965 after being accepted as a flight attendant for Frontier Airlines. During one flight, there was an emergency landing in Salt Lake City, Utah, the passengers said there was no panic because she was so calm. Dee married Bob Bennett and at that time, ended her career as a flight attendant She then went to beauty school to begin yet another successful career. Dee was owner of “Trim & Tress" and then later owned "Dee & Co." for the remainder of her career.

Dee had many passions including Elvis (whom she was able to meet), Denver Broncos (she even scheduled trips around their games to make sure she didn't miss any) and her Jesus and Lord. Dee did not take a back seat if there was something that needed attention. Dee worked tirelessly in getting legislature passed for private boarding care homes in Colorado. She found their conditions deplorable and her efforts did not go unnoticed. She was nominated and was awarded the "9 Who Care" award in Denver. Among other recognitions were from City of Arvada for betterment of the city, featured in Ladies Home Journal in 1984 as well as a handwritten letter from President Ronald Reagan

Dee was preceded in death by her parents and beloved sister, Mary.

Survivors are her brothers, Stan and Jeanine Gibler of Onawa, Iowa and Raymond and Rhonda Gibler of Arvada, Colorado. Dee, having no children of her own, took being an aunt to heart and will be especially missed by her nieces Diana Gangl, Rebecca Zirkel and Brandi Buie and nephews, Mitch, Matt and Chris Gibler.
