Ruth Scoles-1931-2008

Ruth Scoles, 76, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Sunday, May 11, 2008 at the Circle of Life Hospice, Springdale, Arkansas. She was born November 30, 1931 in Soldier, Iowa, the daughter of Brede Bergerson and Magna Halverson Bergerson.

Ruth was raised and educated in Iowa. Ruth married Roger Scoles on June 2,1950 in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. They lived in Mapleton, Iowa; Sioux City, Iowa; Topeka, Kansas; Edmond, Oklahoma; and Overland Park, Kansas, before moving to Bella Vista, Arkansas in November of 1993. She enjoyed golfing, sewing, and cooking. Ruth was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista.

She is survived by her husband Roger Scoles, of Bella Vista, Arkansas; one son; Mark Scoles and wife, Karen of Naperville, Illinois; two daughters, Kristin Hase and husband, Allen of Lawrence, Kansas and Kelly Muxlow and husband Paul of Topeka, Kansas; two brothers, Olaf Bergerson and wife, Helen of Sumner, Washington and Selmer Bergerson and wife, Darlene of Knoxville, Tennessee; and five grandchildren, Sara, Jessica, Elise, Madeline and Jack.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Rudy, and Lief; and two sisters, Trace Wimer and Peg Soukup.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista, Arkansas with Pastor David Fleming officiating. Arrangements were by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72715.
