ONAWA, Iowa -- Florence Laura "Teddy" Rasmussen of Onawa died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church in Onawa, with the Rev. Steven Hetzel officiating. Burial will be in Kennebec Cemetery, Castana, Iowa. Visitation will be noon until service time Friday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Teddy was born July 5, 1915, in Clay Center, Kan., the daughter of Clarence and Friede (Cook) Sterrett. She moved to Sioux City at a young age and lived most of her life in the area. In 1935, she married John McPherson. She was employed at Wincharger Corporation.

In 1954 she married Albert Rasmussen and the couple made their home in Onawa. In 1970, she became a licensed practical nurse and was employed at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa. Albert died in 1981, in Onawa.

She was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church and WELCA.

Survivors include a stepson and his wife, Bill and Elaine Rasmussen; three daughters and their husbands, Joyce "Jody" and Don Persinger of South Sioux City, Jeannie and Jerry Doyal of Clinton, Alaska., and Linda and Roger Felkey of North Glenn, Colo.; a brother and his wife, Clair and Bea Sterrett of Sunnyside, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Calvin "Sonny" McPherson; an infant daughter, Maxine Frances McPherson; and a sister and her husband, Marcyne and Arthur Meisch.

She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
