Mrs. H. E. Herring, Onawa, Iowa

Onawa, Iowa – The funeral of Mrs. Honor E. Herring was held yesterday morning from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. B. F. Ross. Honor E. Pengra was born in Genesee County, New York in 1825 and from there moved to Darien, Illinois, when she was married to Benjamin Herring, February 27, 1850. Mr. and Mrs. Herring came to Onawa in the spring of 1865 and took up their residence on a farm in Lincoln Township where they resided until the death of Mr. Herring in 1896. Since that time she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. B. F. Ross, in Onawa. Interment was in the Harrison Cemetery near Whiting where the husband was buried.
