Roxann (Lane) Ohlmeier, the daughter of Gordon Milford and Delia Mae (Parkhill) Lane, was born on May 4, 1957, in Onawa, Iowa. She passed away surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City after a long illness, at the age of 61.
Roxann spent most of her childhood, along with her sister and two brothers, in the Ticonic area, before the family moved for a short period of time in the early 70’s, to West Des Moines, Iowa for Gordon’s work. The family then would relocate back to Ticonic a few years later. Roxy received her education at Maple Valley in Mapleton, Iowa.

Roxy was united in marriage to Michael W. Ohlmeier in Kansas City, Missouri, and to this union two of her most treasured life accomplishments were born, sons Shawn and Patrick. The family made their home in Ute, Iowa. Roxy and Michael would later go their separate ways.

Roxy resided in Monona County for the rest of her life. In her early adult years Roxy worked as a CNA, a natural caregiver and compassionate woman she thoroughly enjoyed helping others. She would always go out of her way to make sure others were cared for. If you had the pleasure of knowing Roxy at some point you would have felt her love and compassion that could easily fill a room. Being a devoted daughter Roxy took care of her parents Gordon and Delia until they left this earthly life for their eternal home.

Roxy also had a passion for food and cooked like no other. She spent a lot of time in the kitchen at Sparetime Bar and Grill, where she was able to socialize and constantly meet new people. Roxy was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor, quick wit, and contagious smile. Although she was at times a bit stubborn, she was a joy to be around. Roxy loved going on new adventures and meeting new people. She could easily be found in the great outdoors whether just relaxing by her camper or sitting on the shore fishing. Her most cherished moments were spent with her friends and family but most importantly spending time with and snuggling her sweet grandbabies. Along with her sons, they are her life’s biggest blessings.

Roxann was preceded in death by her parents Gordon and Delia Lane, maternal and paternal grandparents.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons Shawn (Mindi) Ohlmeier of Mapleton, IA and Patrick (Kayla Gitchell) Ohlmeier of Ute, IA; grandchildren Tyler, Trista, Taya, Delia, and Gaige Ohlmeier; sister Sharon (Steve) Lanvermeier of Old Monroe, MO; brothers Michael “Coke” (Colleen) Lane of Mapleton, IA and Jeffery Lane of Loveland, CO; along with many extended friends and family.
