Alfred E. Derrick, 63, of Onawa died Friday, December 24, 2004 at Burgess Health Center in Onawa.

Alfred was born November 25, 1941 at Onawa, Iowa, the son of Bud and Glendora. (Arney) Derrick. Alfred lived in Canadian, Texas until returning to Onawa in 1959. He worked at Farmland in Salix, Iowa until his retirement in 2003. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Although Alfred resided in Iowa for many years, he was always a "Texan” at heart.

Survivors include his mother Glendora Derrick of Onawa; two brothers and their wives, Tim and Karen Derrick of Prosser, Washington and Gary and Betty Derrick of Dakota City, Nebraska; one sister and her husband Linda and Ted Dreckman of LeMars, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alfred was, preceded m death by his father, Bud Derrick.

Funeral services were held at 2 00 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2004 at Rush Family Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Olsen officiating. Burial was in Onawa Cemetery Visitation was prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Rush Family Care Service, Onawa.

Music selections were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art".

Casket bearers were Shane Dreckman, Jarred Dreckman, Jason Dreckman, Tony Derrick, Ken Weiland, and Walt Wendel.
