Chester Frank Young

Chester Frank Young, 79, of Whiting, Iowa passed away at home September 6, 1995.

He was born September 24, 1915 on a farm near Walthill, Nebraska, the son of Frank Edward and Carrie (Moline) Young. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, his parents, two brothers, one sister and one grandson.

He was married to Jeane Pease on December 12, 1938 at Wayne, Nebraska. The couple lived in several communities before coming to Whiting in June 1980. Chester worked at various jobs including farming and helping to build The Siouxland, which was the largest tow boat built in Sioux City. He later worked for and retired from Irving F. Jensen Paving Contractor.

Survivors include his wife, Jeane of Whiting; five sons, David and his wife, Ruth of Deloit, Iowa, Dennis and his wife, Mary Ellen of San Jose, California, Tom and his wife, Susan of Lawton, Iowa, Robb and his wife, Teresa of Crested Butte, Colorado and Danny of Omaha, Nebraska; three daughters and their husbands, Sara and Max Thomas of Persia, Iowa, Rosanne and Peter Van Etten of Sioux City and Julie and Bruce French of Meriden, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
