Funeral Services for Edith M. Fischer, 70, at Turin, Iowa Today

Turin, Iowa—Special: Funeral services for Miss Edith M. Fischer, 70, who died Friday night at an Onawa hospital after a one-day illness, were to be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Turin Methodist Church with Rev. Harvey Travis of Onawa officiating. Burial was to be in the Belvedere Cemetery at Turin.

Miss Fischer, a native of Monona County, was born near Castana September 29, 1875, the daughter of George and Mary L. Fischer. A graduate of the University of Iowa, she taught school the greater part of her adult life; at Logan, Iowa for several years, later at Boone, Iowa and for many years previous to her retirement in 1941 at Des Moines.

Survivors include four brothers, L.F. and Walter Fischer of Turin, Charles R. Fischer, Iowa insurance commissioner, Des Moines and Chester of Cleveland, Ohio and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Whitlock of Turin.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Gray Funeral Home of Blencoe.
