Sally Eileen (Comfort Maycock) Voss died suddenly at home on November 14, 2017 at the age of 76. She was a bright, warm, generous woman of deep faith who practiced compassion. She was beloved in her community and adored by her family and friends.

Sally was born in Blencoe, Iowa on April 23, 1941, the first child of Robert Louis and Frances Alice Comfort. She graduated from Blencoe Consolidated School in 1959 and received her bachelor's degree from Morningside College in Sioux City in 1962. She also earned a master's degree in counseling from Georgia State University. Sally married Lan L. Maycock in 1961.

She lived in Connecticut before moving to Stuart, Florida. Sally married Dr. Howard E. Voss, MD, MACP, Medical Director & CEO of the of the Volunteers in Medicine Clinic, in 1989. Dr. Voss is also a clinical professor at Florida State University College of Medicine and an affiliate professor at Florida Atlantic University College of Nursing.

She has been a member of the Stuart Congregational Church for two decades. She was on the Board of Deacons and served for many years as a Stephen Minister along with engaging in other community activities. She was predeceased by her parents and her first husband.

She leaves her husband of 28 years, Dr. Voss. She is survived by her children, Julia L. Maycock and her wife, Jill M. Thornton, of Hamilton, MA. She is survived by her son, Randall R. Maycock and his wife, Karen Barton-Maycock, along with her grandson, Isaac A. Maycock, all of San Francisco, CA. She also leaves Jill and Julia's daughters, Rachel Deussom and her husband, Gabriel, of Washington, D.C., and Hannah Giddings and her husband, Jarhon, of Chester, VA; she leaves three great-grandchildren and a fourth due in December. Sally leaves her stepson Daren Voss and his wife, Jane, of Boca Raton, FL; her sister-in-law Alice Moskowitz, and niece, Lauren Matiuk, of Pompano Beach, FL. She is survived by her sister, Susan Carrier and her husband, Harry, of Blencoe, IA along with her sister Letitia Green and her husband, Richard, of La Quinta, CA. She leaves her niece, Amanda Rousu and her husband, Matthew, of Selinsgrove, PA along with her niece Therasa Webster and her husband, Benjamin, of Napa, CA. She leaves five grand nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 2 at the Stuart Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her memory to the Volunteers in Medicine Clinic, 417 SE Balboa Avenue, Stuart, FL 34994.
