3 August 2017Linda Marie Gosch was born Oct. 11, 1952, in Sioux City, the daughter of Warren Nepper, Jr. and Evon Nepper. She passed away Thursday, July 20, at her home in Charter Oak at the age of 64.
Linda was baptized in Christ and confirmed at the Methodist Church in Mapleton. She received her education in the Mapleton schools, graduating from Mapleton High School with the Class of 1971.
Linda was united in marriage to David Gosch at the Soldier Lutheran Church in Soldier, on March 6, 1970. She was employed in the health care field at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, and at Mosaic in Denison where she loved to care for people, especially caring for those with mental and physical challenges.
Hunting and fishing at Mapleton and Castana with her husband were favorite past-times for her. Linda also enjoyed watching TV, especially science fiction, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, listening to music, dancing and sewing Afghans.
Linda was a kind and loving wife and mother and especially loved her grandchildren whom she spent a lot of time with.
Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Michael.
Survivors include her husband, David; two daughters, Shawntell and Brandy; one son, Shane and his wife, Jolen; five grandchildren, Ashlie, Maggie, Leslie, Gavin, and Rebecca; her father, Warren; her mother, Evon; one sister, Donna, and her husband, Ray; one sister-in-law, Linda; and other relatives and friends.
Memorial Services: 11 a.m., Thursday, July 27, at Soldier Lutheran Church in Soldier. Vicar Shari Schwedhelm officiated the service.
Vocalists Becky Marcum and Marla Bianchini sang hymns “Amazing Grace” and “You Raise Me Up.” A recording of “When I Get to Where I’m Going” by Garth Brooks and Tricia Yearwood was played as the recessional song. Pianist Alice McQueen provided the processional music.
Serving as pallbearers were Maggie Haman, Rebecca Gosch, Leslie Haman, Ashlie Ramp and Gavin Stark.
The family invited everyone to remain at the church for fellowship and lunch provided by the Ladies of the Church.
The Huebner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
