12 July 2017Jose Martin (Morales) Ponce, 65, passed away peacefully around his family on Saturday, July 1, 2017. He was born July 13, 1951 in Robstown, Texas to Juanita Morales and Jose Maria Ponce.
Jose was a heavy equipment operator and a truck driver. He retired Iowa Department of Transportation with twenty plus years and also retired from the City of Pampa with nine plus years. Jose loved many things in life including vintage muscle cars, Nascar and football, especially the Miami Dolphins. His hobbies included fishing, and spending time with his family. He will be truly missed.
Welcoming Jose will be his parents, father-in-law, granddaughter, two sisters and two brothers.
Jose was married to Linda for thirty-five plus years. Together they raised four children; Sabrina, Laloni, L. Steven and Loyal Travis.
Jose is survived by five sisters, one brother, nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and his “babies”.
Celebration of life services will be at 1:00 pm at the Holiday Inn in Pampa on Sunday, July 9, 2017. It will include a buffet luncheon to follow with some of Jose’s favorite foods. There will also be another service for his out of town family and friends on Thursday, July 13, 2017 in Onawa, Iowa at 7pm at The Christian Church with cake and cookies to follow. The family has entrusted the cremation care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
