Albert Kenneth "Kenny" Butler, 91, of Onawa, Iowa, died Monday, July 24, 2017, at his home.

Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 28, 2017, at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, with Pastor Michael Lewis and Evangelist Dale Wolf officiating. Burial will follow in the Onawa Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army, the Monona County VFW Post #2694, and the David McNeill American Legion Post #129 of Onawa. Visitation will be 9:30 - 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 28, 2017, at the Rush Family Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Albert Kenneth "Kenny" Butler was born on June 13, 1926, in Onawa, the son of Albert LaMont and Ruby Pearl (Millard) Butler. He attended country school near Moorhead. He then served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

Kenny married Helen Evelyn Collins on June 8, 1950, in Denison, Iowa. The couple made their home in Onawa, where Kenny worked for Onawa Propane, which was later Empire Gas, for 30 years. He also worked for Loomis Brothers Farms until he was 80 years old. Helen passed away on January 1, 1998.

He enjoyed dancing, gardening, working on cars, spending time with his pet dogs, and drinking coffee with his friends at McDonald's. He was a member of the Monona County VFW Post #2694, the Onawa Eagle's Lodge, and the First Christian Church in Onawa.

Survivors include his special friend of 16 years, Charlotte Patten of Onawa, IA; one daughter, Christine Baker of Mapleton, IA; two sons-in-law, John Arndt of Castana, IA and Richard McArthur of Sioux City, IA; seven grandchildren, Teria (fiancé Kevin Bernauer) Baker of Danbury, IA, B.J. Baker of Lawton, IA, K.C. Baker of Storm Lake, IA, Scott (Linda) Arndt of Spirit Lake, IA, Judy (Roger) Krohn of Mapleton, IA, Tim Hughes of Sioux City, IA, and Vickie Hughes of Sioux City, IA; many great-grandchildren; one brother, Norman (Joan) Butler of Portland, OR; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert LaMont and Ruby Pearl (Millard) Butler; his wife, Helen Evelyn (Collins) Butler; two daughters, Dolly Arndt and Pat McArthur; two sons, Monte Butler and Steve Docken; one son-in-law, Bernard "Pug" Baker; one grandson, Johnny Arndt; and one sister, Neva (Bob) Neal.
