Raymond Elwood Fleck was born on July 8, 1911, in Onawa, the son of Austin A. and Belva Carnes Fleck. He passed away at Burgess Health
Center in Onawa on February 17, 2005 at the age of 93 years.

He grew up on a farm outside of Sloan, Iowa and attended school through the eighth grade. He was married to Odessa Bellis of Castana, on
June 29, 1938 in Sioux City, Iowa. They had four children: Belva Inez, Linda Ray, Johnnie Joe, and Jeffrey Lynn.

Raymond worked as a farm hand for several area farmers, before serving in the U.S. Army during WW2 from 1943 to 1946 Afterward he worked on
the railroad tearing apart unused tracks and train cars. Later he worked as an ironworker, traveling extensively throughout the U.S.

He is survived by his wife, Odessa Fleck of Onawa; daughters, Belva & husband, Ron Mustard of Fishers, IN; Linda Bellon of Perry, IA, sons,
Joe & wife, Joanne Fleck of Rodney, IA and Jeff Fleck of Ft. Wayne, IN; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Adam Jr. (Pete)
Bellis of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters-in-law: Virginia (Mackie) & husband Willis (Buck) Brink, Leona (Bellis) Sweet, and Frankie Bellis all of Onawa, IA,
and several nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Fleck; sisters, Hazel Jones, Lela McCandless, Lila Tullis, and Annabel Heck; sisters-in-law,
Leola Dinwiddle, Katherine Meadows, Katherine Meadows and Mrs. Adam (Pete) Connie Bellis; brothers-in-law, Art Meadows, Lowell McCandless,
Floyd (Charlie) Bellis, Roy Bellis, Robert (Bob) Bellis, Leo Bellis, Bud Dinwiddie and a sonin-law, John Bellon.

Funeral Services were held at 10:30 A.M Tuesday, February 22, 2005, at the First Christian Church, Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor Dennis Olsen officiating
The music was by Ann Phillips, Organist and the selections were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Sweet, Sweet Spirit".

Honorary Bearers were Ellie Saemisch, Angle DeVries, Leslie Bellon, Stacey Johnston, Holly Bellon and Alisha Fleck.

Casket Bearers were Kirk Mustard, Larry Saemisch, Wade Bellon, Derrick Johnston, Hunter Bellon and Earl DeVries.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
