Josephine Johnson, 101, of Iowa Falls, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Scenic Manor Nursing Home in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Alden with burial in Northlawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be an hour before services at church. The Surls Funeral Home is assisting the family. A memorial fund has been established.

Jo was born on January 14, 1916 in Avoca, IA, the daughter of Chris and Marie (Anderson) Andersen. She graduated from high school in Moorhead, IA. She was united in marriage to Wilmer Johnson on February 7, 1933 in Moorhead. Together they farmed in the Popejoy-Alden area.
Jo was a member of the United Methodist Church in Alden. She also was a member of P.E.O., Chapter DV in Iowa Falls.

Jo is survived by her sons; Allen (Maryln) Johnson of Iowa Falls, Jerry (Patty) Johnson of Coralville and Marlin (Paulette) Johnson of Ft. Collins, CO; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and her sister Virginia Hurd.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilmer; her brothers Adolph, Grant and Dick; and her sisters Viola Hundahl-Cook and Dorothy Blomberg.
