Earl "Bud" Knudsen, Jr. 82, of Ute, Iowa and formerly of Pisgah, Iowa passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Iowa. The funeral Mass will be Thursday, May 28, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mondamin, Iowa.

Father Felix Onuora will be the officiating celebrant. Burial will be at the Soldier Valley Cemetery at Pisgah, Iowa. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 27 after 5:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mondamin with a Vigil Wake service at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Dennis Lovell officiating.

Bud was born September 26, 1932 in Omaha, Nebraska to Earl Sr. and Virginia (Wallweber) Knudsen. He graduated from Creighton Prep and then attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska graduating with a degree in accounting. After graduation Bud served as a Lieutenant in the Army stationed in Germany. He worked for James Hollander CPA, Omaha Transit Co, E.W. Keep Inc. in Omaha and Farmland Foods in Denison, IA.

Bud married Eileen Lohr on June 19, 1954 in Omaha, NE and they resided in Germany, Omaha, Pisgah, and Ute. Bud was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed watching Nebraska football, playing bridge with longtime friends and spending 17 winters with Eileen at Sandpiper Beacon in Panama City Beach, Florida.

Survivors include his wife Eileen Knudsen of Ute, Iowa; children Chris Knudsen of Omaha, NE, Bill (Rich) Knudsen of Manilla, IA, Steve Knudsen of Orlando, FL, Tom (Ed) and wife Jodi Knudsen of Olathe, KS, Cathy and husband Richard Carstens of Ute, Joe and wife Karla Knudsen of Treynor, IA, Dan and wife Jen Knudsen of Omaha, NE and Peggy and husband Dale Gibson of Pensacola, FL; 22 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Howard Hoody.
