Chad M. Gloede, 38, of Mapleton, passed away on Saturday, March 11, at the CHI Health Lakeside Hospital of Omaha, Neb.

A Funeral Service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 18, at the Armstrong – Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton. Rev. Dean Christ officiated. 
Interment will be held at a later date. 

Visitation was held one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m., on Saturday, March 18, at the Armstrong – Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton. 

Chad Matthew Gloede the son of Allen “Bud” Gloede and Michele (Jensen) Phillips, was born on Sept. 15, 1978, in Omaha, Neb. He was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church. 

Chad grew up in Omaha and graduated from Millard North High School.

Following in his father and brother Scott’s footsteps with his love of horticulture and landscaping, he worked in Iowa, Omaha, and Northern California.

Chad enjoyed listening to music, camping, fishing, boating, spending time with family and friends, and he adored his niece, Taylor, and nephew, Scott.

Chad was preceded in death by his brother, Scott Gloede; maternal grandparents, Irene and Meinert Jensen; paternal grandparents, Phyllis and Edward Baak and Wilbur Gloede; an aunt and an uncle.

He is survived by his parents, Michele (Robert) Phillips of Derby, and Allen “Bud” Gloede of Mapleton; sister, Andrea Gloede of Mapleton; niece, Taylor Sandy; nephew, Scott Offutt; step-brother, Sean Phillips and family; step-sister, Carol Miller and family; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

Chad will continue to live on through the gift of organ donation.

The Armstrong - Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
