Myrna Joann was born October 24, 1931 on the Stevenson-Fairchild farm north of Blue Lake to Fred and Myrna Minerva (Beigel) Stevenson. She attended Cook Country School until the 6th grade. Upon the death of her mother in 1942, she went to live with her sister Dorothy and Harry Hoffman. Their son, Don, was more like a little brother to her than a nephew.
Joann graduated from Blencoe High School in 1949. She married Rogene Kornet Eisele August 4, 1950. They enjoyed dancing, camping, and family picnics. They were blessed with two children, a son, Michael and a daughter, Rhonda. Rogene preceded her in death on August 23, 2002.

She was employed by West Monona Community Schools for 23 years working at Lark Elementary as a Teacher's Aid and at the new high school as secretary to the principal.

Joann was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, missing very few of her grandkids school activities through the years. She served as a Sunday School Teacher, Boy Scout Den Mother, Campfire leader and loyal school activity fundraiser, often contributing her baking skills by providing homemade pies.
She was a former member of the DAR and currently active serving on the Historical Society Board, Friends of the Library, Burgess Auxiliary, Garden Club, and a volunteer at Act II, the museum and depot.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Onawa and Blencoe.

Joann loved nature and enjoyed working in the yard and tending numerous flower gardens, feeding the birds in the winter, raising orphaned baby animals in spring and going on walks at Blue Lake. She nurtured and passed on this love to her children and grandchildren. Joann, like her mother was blessed with a wonderful artistic ability and left the family with many beautiful paintings and drawings to cherish.

Survivors left to cherish many wonderful memories are her daughter, Rhonda (Jaimie) Murray of Onawa, IA; granddaughters, Jordyn Murray and Shayla Murray of Onawa, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Elaine Eisele of Onawa, IA; two grandsons, Rory (Amanda) Eisele and great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Emily of Bremerton, WA and Ryan (Tara) Eisele of Lee's Summit, MO; three brothers, Robert (Bob) Stevenson of West Liberty, IA, Dick (Alice) Stevenson of Onawa, IA, and Jack (Norma) Stevenson of Sloan, IA; one sister-in-law, Deleva Stevenson of Manchester, IA; and many nieces, nephews, friends, extended family, and her little sweetheart, Lexi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Myrna; husband, Rogene; son, Michael (Mike) Eisele; father and mother-in-law, Orville and Maria Eisele, three sisters, Virginia Edson, Dorothy Hoffman, Lorraine Grienke; two brothers, George and Don Stevenson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bernice Stevenson, Gloria Stevenson, Bob's Bonnie Stevenson, Dick's Bonnie Stevenson, Norman Edson, Harry Hoffman, and Walter (Bud) Grienke.

Joann will be missed by many. The family asks that you honor her memory by taking the initiative and time to call a friend or family member to get together to do something, stop by and visit someone who has been on your mind or drop by the nursing home/assisted living to brighten someone's day.
