27 November 2016Howard R. Farber, 91, of Onawa, Iowa passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa.
Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 2, 2016 at the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Michael Lewis, officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Navy. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.
Howard Russell was born on April 3, 1925 in Rockwell City, Iowa the son of Clay and Mabel (Maxwell) Farber. He attended school at Turin, Iowa and Castana, Iowa. He served in the United States Navy from 1943 – 1946.
Howard and Donna Breitkreutz were united in marriage on August 20, 1993 at Vermillion, South Dakota.
Howard was employed by Barbara Ann Bread Company in San Fernado Valley for 12 years, Irving F. Jensen Construction, and after 15 years as a truck foreman he retired in 1987. After retirement, he was employed by Cargill in Onawa, Iowa and Co-op in Blencoe, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; three children, Sylvia Lynn Pizinger of California, Teri Moeller of Georgia, and Russell Farber of Washington; three step-children, Debra Breitkreutz of Omaha, NE, Dale Breitkreutz of Kentucky, and Darla Rapp of Sioux City, IA; one brother, Bernard (Phyllis) Farber of Onawa, IA; and several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary Farber; daughter, Kim Farber; step-son, Duane Breitkreutz; sister, Yvonne Parks-Sick; and two brothers-in-law, Benton Parks and Ernest Sick.
