Lois Mae Eskelsen, 67, of Blencoe, Iowa passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016 at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer.

Memorial services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Onawa, Iowa with Vicar Shari Schwedhelm, officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date in the Spring Valley Cemetery, Moorhead, Iowa. Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. until service time on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Lois Mae was born on September 28, 1949, the only child of Dale and Adah (Rustin) Welliver of Moorhead, Iowa. She graduated from East Monona in Moorhead in 1967. She went on to Iowa Lakes Community College and the University of South Dakota.

She married Craig Eskelsen, son of Page and Nola (Johnson) Eskelsen, in 1970. To this union, three children were born. Craig preceded her in death on September 2, 2012.

Lois was a good wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor, and friend. She was a very private person, generous, except with herself. She loved her home and family treasures, her pets, plants, and mother nature.

Lois was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Onawa, Iowa where she served faithfully whenever asked.

She was very proud of her heritage. Having a cabin built on her century farm in the Loess Hills gave her and her family great joy.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Mida (Tedd) Lehtinen of Omaha, NE, Eric (Jen) Eskelsen of St. Louis, MO, and Jill (Jeff) Berg of Sloan, IA; four grandchildren, Eli Lehtinen, Anna Lehtinen, Jeremiah Berg, and Jamison Berg; mother-in-law, Nola Eskelsen; brother-in-law, Joel (Joyce) Eskelsen; nieces; very special cousins; and an amazing network of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Craig; father-in-law, Page; and special aunts and uncles.
