Cindy (Melby) Longlee, 57, of Castana, Iowa, died Friday, November 18, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Visitation will be held 3:00 – 4:00 P.M. Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Soldier Lutheran Church in Soldier, Iowa, with a prayer service at 4:00 P.M., officiated by Vicar Shari Schwedhelm. A Celebration of Cindy's Life will continue at the Soldier Community Building in Soldier following the prayer service. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Cindy Sue was born January 26, 1959 in Moorhead, Iowa, the daughter of Norman and Bonnie (Outhouse) Melby. She graduated from East Monona High School in Moorhead in 1977.

Cindy and Joe Lee were united in marriage and to this union, three children were born: Heather, Jayna, and Andy. She married her soul mate, Dale Longlee, on September 16, 2015.

She was successfully employed throughout her life, and especially enjoyed working as a veterinary technician for the Twin Valley Veterinary Clinic in Dunlap, Iowa.

She was a member of the Soldier Lutheran Church in Soldier, Iowa. In later years, she helped to facilitate events for the Cattleman's Association. She loved her animals, and greatly enjoyed helping her husband Dale on their farm. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, especially her time with her grandson Ryder.
Survivors include her children, Heather (Bart) Lee Monaster of Omaha, NE, Jayna Lee of Sioux City, IA, and Andy Lee of Schleswig, IA; two grandsons, Ryder Lee and Ryan Paulsrud; her mother, Bonnie (Eldon Stroburg) Baker of Clearfield, IA; two sisters, Lee (Tom) Kennedy of Soldier, IA and Laura (Rick Meents) Seaton of Denison, IA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jan (Bill) Baggoe and family of Sioux City, IA, Steve (Marilyn) Longlee and family of Hornick, IA, and Linda (Delmar) Nielsen and daughter of North Sioux City, SD; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Longlee; her father, Norman Melby; her stepfather, Earl Baker; her great-grandmother, Inga Hines; and one niece, Amanda Kennedy.
