Last Rights Held Here Monday For Henry Cook, 51

Funeral services were held at St. John’s Methodist Church Monday for Henry A. Cook, 51, who passed away May 12 in St. Joseph’s hospital at 6:15 a.m. He had been ill for 10 days.

Rev. George A. Osborn, pastor of the church officiated at the service and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers were Willard Sanford, Lawrence Muckey, Jack Thompson, John Heisler, Earl Potter and Jim Martin. Services were directed jointly by Boland and Duschl Funeral directors.

Henry Albert Cook, son of Henry and Minnie Cook was born January 21, 1900 at Mapleton. He graduated from Mapleton High School and later attended Beuna Vista College. He was a veteran of World War.

On September 6, 1921, he was married to Doris A. Booth and to this union were born two children. He was a member of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge and various community clubs.

He was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Sawyer Cook, who was born July 21, 1925 and died December 19, 1926.

He is survived by his wife and daughter, Carol, his mother, six sisters and five brothers.

Those from out of town here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cook, Emmetsburg, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Vigen and daughter Ruth of Nebraska City, Nebraska, Ross Langely, Primghar, Mrs. H.M. Booth and son, Robert and W.W. Booth, all of Carroll, Rosalie Cook Cook and Wm. F. Cook, Sioux City, J.P. Cook and Leslie Muckey of Camp McCoy and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Davis of Onawa.
