14 September 2016Pat Huntington, 78, of Whiting, Iowa, died Monday, September 5, 2016 at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Whiting Christian Church in Whiting, Iowa, with Pastor Josh Weece officiating. Burial will follow in the Whiting City Cemetery in Whiting, Iowa. Visitation will be held 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.
Pat was born September 17, 1937 in Pickneyville, Illinois, the daughter of Irene Bernice Albrecht. She graduated from Shawnee Mission High School in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.
Pat and Charles Huntington were united in marriage on April 4, 1972 in Miami, Oklahoma.
She studied and worked in law enforcement. She enjoyed playing bingo with her husband and friends, and especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Pat was a member of the Whiting Christian Church in Whiting, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Huntington of Whiting, IA; seven children and their families, James R. Huntington, William L. Huntington, Sherri L. Huffman, Robin B. Shores, Donald Lobner, Jr., Michael Lobner, and John Lobner; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley and Lori; and one brother, Bob Metzger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Charles R. "Rusty" Huntington and James Lobner; and one grandson.
