31 August 2016Bonnie Jean (Hime)Stevenson, 91, formerly of Washington passed away August 17, 2016 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. She was a former resident of Onawa.
She was born January 15, 1925 in Blencoe, Iowa to Wilbur and Bertha (Marley) Hime. She grew up in Blencoe graduating in the class of 1942.
On June 5, 1945 she married Robert (Bob) Stevenson. They lived numerous places in Iowa, the longest in Washington, Iowa where they lived 38 years. She worked outside the home as well as raising five children. They celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary in June of this year.
Bonnie is survived by her husband Robert Louis Stevenson of West Liberty, son Larry (Nancy) of Ft. Scott, Kansas, daughter Mary of Iowa City. Survivors include 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one sister, Evelyn Purchase of Onawa and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters, her parents and one grandson. An interment service will be held in Onawa at a later date.
