Clara Anna McCall, the daughter of John A. and Minnie (Freerking) Petersen, was born March 14, 1914, at Ute.

Her early years were spent in the Ute community. She was baptized on May 3, 1914 in the home of her parents by Pastor R. Amstein of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ute. She was confirmed in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on May 10, 1927 by Pastor C.A. Krog.

On February 23, 1934, she was united in marriage to Wayne McCall in Ute by Pastor E. Widmann.

The couple farmed south of Soldier, until 1936 when they moved to a farm north of Ute. In 1963 they retired and moved into the town of Ute.

Her beloved husband preceded her in death on March 7, 1977.

She was a life-long member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Clara McCall died on Sunday evening, August 3, at the Dunlap Care Center, Dunlap, having attained the age of 72 years, 4 months and 19 days.

She is survived by two sons, Donald of Charter Oak, and Gary of Ute, a sister, Ella (Mrs. Fred Soukup) of Ute, four grandchildren, and a great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers.

Services were held Wednesday, August 6, 1986 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ute, Rev. Robert Leege officiating. The message in music was provided by Mrs. Harvey Thies, organist and the Ladies Choir who sang “How Great Thou Art,” and “What A Friend We Have In Jesus.”

Pallbearers were Norman Petersen, Gene Soukup, George Moorhead, Shurrell Savery, Roger McCall and Russ McCall. Interment was in St. Clair Cemetery, Ute with arrangements by Walter Funeral Service.
