Bill George Castle, 37, of Mapleton, Iowa, died Wednesday, May 6, 1981, in a Sioux City Hospital of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident March 27, 1981, at Mapleton.

Services were held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Mapleton, The Reverend Water Bruch officiated. Lecturer was James Galles, assistants for communion were Joe Christensen and Leonard LeFebvre, music was by St. Mary’s Adult and CYO choirs and organist was Mrs. Lillian Kuhlman. Burial was in the parish Cemetery. The rosary was recited at 2:30 P.M. and 7:30 P.M. Friday in the Walter Funeral Home at Mapleton.

Bill was born July 18, 1943 to George and Marcella (Tidd) Castle at Sioux City, Iowa. He lived in the Mapleton community and graduated from Maple Valley High School in 1962.

He married Barb Sander October 27, 1962, at Mapleton. He worked for Mac’s Chevrolet at Mapleton and in 1963 opened Bill’s Skelly Service. He owned and operated Bill Castle Yamaha Suzuki Motorcycle Shop since 1978 at Mapleton.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Men Club, Mapleton Jaycees, Timber Ridge Recreational Ranch, Willow Vale Golf Club and the Athletic Booster.

Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Tammy, Terri Kay, and Holly and three sons, Billy, Travis and Ryan, all at home; his parents, George and Marcella Castle of Mapleton; and one brother, Donald of Mapleton.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Pallbearers were Leo Kane, Richard Lindbom, Bob Conyers, Wayne Gosch and Marvin Kruse.
