Hit, Run Car Kills Youth

Kenneth Larson Struck Down While Playing in Alley

Onawa, Iowa—Special; Kenneth Larson, 9-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Larson of Onawa, was killed instantly and his 7-year-old brother Daniel was injured severely Monday night when they were struck by a hit-and-run automobile, officers said, while playing in a sand pile in a downtown alley.

Officers who investigated said they believed the automobile was driven by a resident of Onawa. They had not located either car or driver late Monday night.

Two other children, officers said, were playing with the Larson boys when the accident occurred. The two, however, fled shortly after the accident.

Melvin Peterson, Monona County sheriff; Frank Sigler, city police chief, and Don Muir, state patrolman, were investigating.
