Joyce E. DuMond, 90, of Onawa, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa, Iowa.

Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Dennis Burns, officiating. Burial will be in the Belvidere Cemetery at Turin, Iowa. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Joyce Elaine was born May 4, 1926 near Onawa, Iowa the daughter of Roy "Slim" and Vernie (Shearer) Daugherty. She graduated from Blencoe High School in Blencoe, Iowa.

Joyce and Cloyce Vernon DuMond were united in marriage on January 2, 1945 in Fort Scott, Kansas. Two sons were born to this union, Randy and Barry.

Joyce received her LPN degree and worked in several area nursing facilities and handicapped facilities over her career.

Joyce enjoyed collecting dolls and loved spending time with her family. She was a past leader of the cub scouts and the 4-H. She also taught Sunday school for many years.

Joyce was baptized and confirmed at the Congregational Church in Blencoe, Iowa and currently was a member of the Turin United Methodist Church, Turin, Iowa.

Survivors include her son, Barry (Linelle) DuMond of Castana, IA; daughter-in-law, LaDonna DuMond of Soldier, IA; two granddaughters, Amy Jo (Terry) Manuel of Ada, OK and Lisa DuMond Mauch (special friend, Jason Clark) of Le Mars, IA; three great-grandchildren, Jesse, Riley, and Shelby; three step-great-grandchildren, Taylor, Brittany, and Aaron; one brother, Tom (Judy) Daugherty of Cape Corral, FL; one sister-in-law, Cletis (Neil) Schwartz of Phoenix, AZ; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cloyce in 1981; and son, Randy DuMond in 2000.
