Shirley Elaine Richardson, 81, of Onawa, Iowa died Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Burgess Health Center, Onawa, Iowa.

Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the First Christian Church in Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Jerry Quandt, officiating. Burial will be in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, March 14, 2016 at the Rush Family Chapel, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Shirley Elaine was born on September 29, 1934 in Onawa, Iowa. She was the third child born to Elmer and Grace (Cummins) Ingram. She married Kenneth "Red" Richardson on December 22, 1951 in Onawa, Iowa. She graduated from Onawa High School in 1952. During the early years of marriage, Shirley focused on being a homemaker and raising her children. When she entered the workforce, Shirley worked at People's Natural Gas before beginning her career in the Treasurer's office in the Monona County Courthouse. Shirley worked for over thirty years in the Treasurer's office, where she retired in 2004.

Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and devoted NASCAR fan. She enjoyed embroidering, traveling, shopping, and collecting Emmet Kelly Clowns. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Onawa, IA where she was active for many years with the women's group. She was also an active leader with the Cub Scout's for many years.

Shirley is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Kenneth "Red" Richardson of Onawa, IA; son, Brian Richardson of Papillion, NE; two daughters, Robann (fiancé Randy Coyle) DuMond of Pisgah, IA and Janelle Richardson of Onawa, IA; seven grandchildren, Travis (Mollie) Larson of Onawa, IA, Kyle (fiancé Maggie Sheehy) Richardson of Chicago, IL, Kara (Adam) Walling of Elkhorn, NE, Kasia Richardson of Omaha, NE, Bailey Lynn, Bradley Richardson, and Braedan Muff all of Onawa, IA; four great-grandchildren, Van Magnuson of Omaha, NE, and Drake, Felix, and Quinn Walling of Elkhorn, NE; one brother, Richard (Charmaine) Ingram of Sioux City, IA; and one sister-in-law, Shirley Ingram of Onawa, IA.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Grace Ingram; two sons, Bradley Kenneth Richardson and Jay David Richardson; one sister, Agnes Kohn; and one brother, Kenneth Ingram.
