Mrs. Lucy Rathburn was born at Allen, Kan., March 13, 1869 and died at her home in Onawa, January 4, 1930, age 60 yrs, 9 mos., 21 day.

When a girl she moved with her parents from Kansas to Nebraska and later in 1880 moved to Iowa and settled near Onawa and has made this her home ever since, excepting a year and a half when she lived at Smithland. She was united in marriage to Geo. E. Rathburn April 20, 1888 to which union were born four children, three sons and one daughter: Wilbert and Horace now living in Sioux City, Mrs. Thos Loomis of Onawa and Gilbert who died in infancy.

Besides her husband and three children Mrs. Rathburn leaves to mourn her death three sisters, Mrs. Mae Munds of Yankton, S. D., Mrs. Ella Baldwin of Waterloo, la., Mrs. Lizzie Jones of Onawa, two brothers Harry of Walt Hill, Nebr., and Luther of Emerson, Nebr., also four grandchildren and many friends and neighbors.

She was a member of the Methodist church from early life until the time of her death, but has not been able to attend for a number of years because of impaired physical health. While a place is vacant in the home and she will be missed by her loved ones, a spirit has been released from a broken and aching physical body.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon with the Barnard Funeral Directors in charge and Rev. Wm. Zabilka officiating. Interment was made in the Onawa cemetery.
