UTE, Iowa | Timothy F. Burroughs, 66, of Chillicothe, Ill., formerly of Ute, died Feb. 7, 2015, after a brief battle with cancer.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Runge Mortuary and Crematory in Davenport, Iowa.
He was born in Shenandoah, Iowa, to Francis and Freda (Griffin) Burroughs. He grew up in Ute. He retired after 40 years as a pharmacist with Walgreens.

He loved gardening, woodworking, traveling, and tormenting his family with puns. He was a voracious reader, especially of science fiction, with a life-long love of learning.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Bolte) Burroughs; two daughters, Jennie Burroughs and Katie (Jeff) Blum; siblings, Ruth Aken, Joe, Raymond, Richard, Tony, David, Robert and Daniel; sister-in-law, Laurie (Don) Marple; brother-in-law, David (Susan) Bolte; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Tim Aken; and an infant sister.

Memorials may be made in Tim's name to Doctors Without Borders, or the charity of your choice
