27 December 2014WHITING, Iowa | Micheal J. Ensley, 65, of Whiting died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Visitation with family present will be one hour prior to services Sunday at the funeral home.
Micheal James Ensley was born Nov. 8, 1949, in Sioux City, the son of Donald and Betty (Card) Ensley. He graduated from the Riverside High School in 1968.
On April 5, 1969, Micheal married Gloria Gilbertson in Sioux City.
Micheal began his career working for Iowa Power, later renamed Mid-American Energy, in 1969. He was stationed in North Sioux City, and later in Des Moines, Glenwood, Red Oak and Villisca, Iowa. After retiring in 2006, they moved to Diamond City, Ark., and then to Whiting in 2009.
Micheal enjoyed sports and was active in promoting youth sports. He was extremely proud of the way his kids and grandchildren turned out. Besides sports, Micheal enjoyed horse riding and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria; a son, David (Wendy) Ensley of Glenwood, Iowa; two daughters, Teresa (Darin) Kraus of Sioux City, and Jo (Mark) Kisling of Sioux City; his grandchildren, Benjamin Ensley, Samantha Ensley, Zach Kraus, Chloe Kraus, Kale Kisling and Michael Kisling; and a sister, Kathy “Tubby” Steeg of Diamond City.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
