Faye C. (Reisch) Monjon, 85, of Whiting, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, June 7, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix, Iowa, with the Rev. Patrick O'Kane officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Sioux City. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Faye Catherine was born Nov. 17, 1922, at Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Nick and Rose Catherine (Bohlke) Reisch. She moved with her family to Salix, Iowa, where she graduated in the class of 1940 at St. Joseph Catholic School at Salix.

Faye and Raymond Monjon were united in marriage in 1953 at Cathedral Church in Sioux City. After their marriage, Faye graduated from cosmetology school in Denver, Colo. Ray was a co-owner of Parks School of Business in Denver. Ray and Faye traveled extensively throughout the country while he recruited for the business. Their love of traveling extended into world traveling until his death in 1973.

Faye returned to Sioux City and later owned and operated Sioux Chick Store until her retirement. She had been a resident at Pleasant View Care Center the past six years. Faye will long be remembered for her loving kindness, caring for those in need, an avid reader and her beautiful flower gardens.

Survivors include two brothers and their wives, Jim and Lela Reisch of Salix, and Bob and Jean Reisch of Panama City, Fla.; a sister-in-law, June Reisch of Avoca, Iowa; five nieces; and four nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jerry; an infant daughter; and an infant son
