Elsie K. Rasmussen, 99, of Mapleton died Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at St. John's United Methodist Church in Mapleton, with the Rev. Shirley Textor and the Rev. Mark Smeltzer officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Mapleton. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Mrs. Rasmussen was born May 6, 1898, in Mapleton, the daughter of Gustav and Katrina Elizabeth (Erickson) Tromstrom. She graduated from Mapleton High School in 1916. She was a lifelong resident of the Mapleton community.

She married Marion Rasmussen, Sr. in October of 1924. He died in 1944.

She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Mapleton.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Marion Jr. and Sharon Rasmussen of Redmond, Wash.; and a grandson, Eric Rasmussen.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
