Kenneth L. Stone, 76, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. William Cotten, pastor of Riverside United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Grant Cemetery, Rodney, Iowa. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Stone was born Feb. 25, 1922, in Sioux City, the son of Harlan and Helen (Tierney) Stone. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He married Beulah B. Corner on Oct. 12, 1946, in Elk Point, S.D. He was employed as an appliance repairman and well driller.

Survivors include his wife; four sons and their wives, John and Luella, Orval and Carol and Ronald and Tina, all of Sioux City and Michael and Collette of Braham, Minn.; three daughters, Betsy Wilde of Sioux City, Ellen and her husband, Larry Cates, of Elk Point and Mary and her husband, Ted Graff, of Lawton, Iowa; 23 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; three brothers and their wives, Marvin and Dorothy of Sioux City, Donald and Janet of Salem, Ore., and James and Liz of Washington state; a sister and her husband, Pauline and Arlos Swan of Sioux City; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Lauren; a sister, Maxine; and a son-in-law, Fred Wilde.
