Services Held For Mrs. Augusta Mayfield

Funeral services for Mrs. Augusta Mayfield, 70, a residence of Whiting for 17 years, who passed away Saturday, October 1st at a Sioux City Hospital after a long illness were held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 3rd, at the Whiting Church of Christ. Rev. Stanley Tones officiated and burial was in the Whiting cemetery under the direction of the Wood Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mayfield was born September 13, 1890, at Charter Oak, Ia. She Was married to Fred Mayfield in 1922 at Omaha. They lived in Lusk, Wyo., for many years before moving to Whiting in 1943. Mr. Mayfield died in 1945. Mrs. Mayfield was a member of the Lutheran Church in Omaha, but attended the Church of Christ of Whiting.

Survivors include four brothers, Albert and Louis Strissel, both of Omaha, Frank Sydow of Lakeside, Calif., and Carl Sydow of Omaha and a sister, Mrs. Caroline Krumveida of Onawa, Ia.
