DES MOINES, Iowa — Malvina M. Jones, 90, of Des Moines, formerly of Ute, Iowa died Thursday, Oct. 8, 1998 at the Urbandale Rehab and Care Center.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Armstrong Chapel in Mapleton, Iowa with Pastor Kurt Rutz officiating. Burial will be at St. Clair Cemetery in Ute. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Mrs. Jones was born April 5, 1908 at Mapleton, the daughter of Otto and Emma (Wadke) Jacobs.

She married Robert Lee Jones in Soldier Township near Charter Oak, Iowa on April 29, 1931. She worked as a seamstress in her home. They farmed in the Ute area prior to moving to High in the Amana Colonies in 1959. They later lived in Boone, Iowa before moving to Des Moines. He died Feb. 4, 1973.

She was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Des Moines.

Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Isabel J. and Cliff Stuewe of Costa Mesa, Calif., Noreen E. and Fred Clayton of Sunrise Beach, Mo., Alice J. and Dick Rogerson of Waukee, Iowa; four sons and their wives, Richard. and Bev of Des Moines, James W. and Elaine of Urbandale, Robert L. and LaMolle of Egen, Minn. and Daniel and Sandra of Des Moines; 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; one brother and his wife John and Norma Jean of Mapleton; along with many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a son Royce in 1948; one sister and two brothers.
