William Isaac Strait 1920 - 1956

William Isaac Strait, son of Isaac and Emma Strait, was born July 11, 1920, in Monona county near Ute. Except for one year which he lived in Mapleton, he resided on the same farm near Ute for his entire life. He graduated from the Ute high school. He was a member of the Woodman of the World and was a past member of the Monona County Saddle club.

He departed his life Saturday, June 30, 1956. His tragic death resulted from a tractor accident near his home. He had reached the age of 35 years, 11 months and 19 days. He is survived by 1 sister, Mrs. Lambert (Ruth) Porter of Des Moines; 3 half brothers, Strait, Denison, Albert Strait, Charter Oak, and Dow Strait, Ute,; half sisters, M . Roy Knutson, Mrs., Mamie Kraft of Sioux City, Mrs. Alfred Wallace of Onawa.

Was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, 1 half sister, 1 half brother.

Rev. Donald Cutler officiated services and burial was St. Clair cemetery at Ute.

Pallbearers were Lester Miller,? Waderich, Ed Gosch, Earl ?, Clifford LeFebvre and Bob ?

The services were under the arrangements of the Byers- Walter home.
