A message was received here last Saturday morning announcing the death of Mrs. F. E. VanScoy at Roswell, New Mexico. About a year ago Mrs. VanScoy had an attack of pneumonia from which she never fully recovered. Thinking the dry healthful climate of New Mexico would help to renew her waning strength, she went there in October in company with Mr. and Mrs. Coe of Woodbine.

At first the effects seemed beneficial but later disclosures showed that the disease had developed an internal abscess which resulted in her death at 7:20 a. m. last Friday.

The sad news cast a shadow of sorrow over the whole community. Mrs. VanScoy was dearly loved by all who knew her intimately. Her noble Christian character, her loving, tender, sympathetic nature and her gentle, unassuming manner make her death a personal loss to all who knew her.
